Pursuing peace

Christian Peacemaker Teams
Christian Peacemaker Teams is a violence reduction program of Mennonites, Brethren and Friends. It sends trained teams of unarmed peacemakers into conflict situations in various parts of the world.

KAIROS
Ecumenical Justice Initiatives is the peace and justice coalition of the Canadian churches. MCC Canada is a member of KAIROS.

Peace and Justice Support Network of Mennonite Church USA
This site provides numerous suggestions for worship, action and advocacy on a wide range of issues.

Project Ploughshares
Project Ploughshares is a Canadian peace and disarmament organization sponsored by the Canadian Council of Churches. Ploughshares does research on the arms trade, human security and the links between militarism and underdevelopment. MCC Canada is a member of Project Ploughshares.

Mennonite Church Canada
Mennonite Church Canada is one of the member conferences of MCC. Its Resource Centre has an excellent selection of peace resource materials.

The Thirdway Cafe
The Thirdway Cafe is a program of Mennonite Media of the Mennonite Mission Network. It describes why Mennonites are committed to peace, and offers stories about Mennonite peacemakers from around the world.

Canadian School of Peacebuilding

June 14 to July 2, 2010
This second annual Canadian School of Peacebuilding, held at Canadian Mennonite University (CMU) in Winnipeg, MB, offers three 5-day sessions, each with two or three courses running concurrently. Courses can be taken for academic credit or for professional training for practitioners.  Learn more.
